Beyond a simple alpaca site, these pages...
...show how to make your site editable by YOU!
Take a few moments to experience the pages of this site. The areas bordered by dotted/dashed lines contain user(you)-editable descriptions of events (showings, classes, publicity occasions, etc.) and articles (how-to, info about alpaca ranching, the story of your business and people) that *you* control and edit!
These event-descriptions and articles are made editable through our news network, PuebloServes.org (soon to be AmericaServes.com). As part of our news network, you control your news and may even opt to have your articles display to news sites affiliated with Puebloserves, including sites specializing in ranching, alpacas, small business opportunities, and so on.
Ask the webmaster who developed your site to speak with PuebloServes and discover how much money you both can save when *you* take charge of some of the updating of your own site — and how much greater visibility your alpacas can have by appearing in varied places around the web.
Does this section of site look like static content?
Well, it’s not. It’s user-modifiable. Yours could be, too!
You see, each of the main content sections on the present page is stored as a miniature “article” in the PuebloServes content-management system. The reddish headline atop each section is stored in the “title” line of the article you post there; the purplish subheadline is from the “subtitle” line; the current black text you are reading is the “body” of the article.
Once you have easily logged in, you may divide any “article” into as many paragraphs as you wish without writing HTML computer code — just by hitting ‘Return’ (‘Enter’) twice. For example, right now you are seeing the *second* paragraph under the section titled, “Does this section of site...”
And if you are on a Mac, you can effortlessly insert bullets (‘Option-8’) or indent a paragraph with hard spaces (‘Option-Space’) in any browser. You can thereby created bulleted lists such as:
• First bulleted item.
• Second bulleted item.
• Third bulleted item.
(We hope soon to find a Windows guru to discover us a shortcut of similar convenience for non-Mac PCs.)
All of this composition and editing is done at a moment‚Äôs notice from any browser of any PC/Mac that has an internet connection —¬†without having to bother (or pay) your webmaster, leaving his/her time for enhancing the look and feel of the site.
Please invite your webmaster to contact Service@PuebloServes.org to learn how easily they can include a little piece of preset code to give this easy updatability to the site they have developed for you.
How do you get started to take control of your web PR?
Let us give you and your webmaster a free trial
PuebloServes will take the time to list for free your small business in its pages, just as it does for nonprofit services. (And tell your webmaster that we’d like to list *their* services for free, too.)
Your listing will include complete contact information, web site link, and your business’ theme and/or tag line. If you have a logo, we can display it (scaled to about 120 pixels high) beside your listing in the directory (for example www.PuebloServes.org/ServeTheBuyer) and miniatures of your logo everywhere that news from your business is posted (see examples on our home page www.PuebloServes.org).
